Overview: Great Basin National Park Foundation’s mission is to enhance, preserve, and interpret the starry night skies, wide-open scenery, cultural heritage, and diverse native ecosystems of Great Basin National Park. We are passionately devoted to fostering people’s connection to Great Basin National Park, so its wonder is preserved, enhanced, and protected for future generations. In tandem with the National Park Service, we develop forward-thinking advocacy, dynamic educational programs, and innovative initiatives, like the Great Basin Observatory, that enhance the visitor experience and create deeper bonds between people, the Park, and the entire Great Basin area.

Position Responsibilities: This position will work closely with the Great Basin National Park Foundation (GBNPF) program manager to help with outreach, capacity building, strategic communications, and development for our education and outreach programs. Almost all work will take place remotely through Zoom meetings, email, and phone.

Qualifications:

Preferred skills and abilities: Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and self-directed. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills and a desire to work with a wide range of people- both in person and remotely. Proofreading skills and good use of grammar and punctuation. Skills in writing, communications, video creation, editing, and social media. A desire to learn about nonprofits, national parks, and the Great Basin. A commitment to meet deadlines, pay attention to details and demonstrate follow through with everything you do. Interest in environmental issues, conservation science, nonprofits, education, and national parks.
